Synopsis

Amazon.com
There are probably few Christian music acts that are as tough as the Martins to categorize. With their initial releases from 1996 we heard a straight gospel message dressed in its country best. But two studio albums later, the Martins' sound takes another turn with Windows, a definite transition to a more easy-listening, adult contemporary approach. Oh, those rural roots still surface on "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" and "I Feel the Rain," but they're bookmarked by the swinging, horn-laden "What God's Gonna Do" and the Randy Phillips-penned "Might God." The beautiful "Higher Than My Ways," a sure-fire radio hit, provides a tasty harmonic blend from this familial trio. --Michael Lyttle

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD has it all...upbeat and fun, powerful and emotional. You can't miss this one. After you get it, you'll have to have the two before it and you won't be disappointed with any of them. This family is truly gifted by God and their ministry through their songs is spectacular. What voices!"
THE BRIDGE BUILDERS

"This amazying trio is nothing short of spectacular!! They have bridged southern gospel, contemporary, inspirational, parodies(such as Count Your Blessings), to pop(in Mighty God), and rock(Timoty's Burden) and even acapella into one spirit filled ministry that glorifies Jesus Christ. They are the ultimate best in 3 part harmony. You will not find sibling harmonies this good anywhere. This family can do it all. However, so many people bash contemporary music because they fill it has a worldly edge. I did for a while until I met the Martins. Give it a chance and search the facts. If people would study history they will find that early organs were not allowed into churches because of their places in pagean Roman temples, and that the early church found Palestrina's Kyrie's and mass'the example that all sacred music should follow. And now here we are with drums, organs, and synthesizers in our churces. I am gald of the people like the Martins who follow God's commands to make a "JOYFUL NOISE" unto the Lord. God created music and commanded us to use music to praise his name (Psalm 66). Music itself is not of the world, it's the message and the intenet of the music itself that makes it worldly. So,if your apprehensive about different styles of music, pick this one up. It has something for everyone and has been put together with superb taste. The Martins refuse to sit on the church pews of complacency. They continue to bring fresh ideas of God's gospel through music to people who are dying spiritually, and this "Windows" CD is no exception. I Will Go the Distance tells us to live by Mark 16:15 and preach the Gospel, while Don't Wanna Miss a Thing (which is southern gospel at it's ultimate best) and Stars Below are a reminder of the promise of eternal life and to be ready. May WE Never Forget is a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and will have one crying and praying over it's simple truth. Their flawless blend and harmonies bind together the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everything from accoustical guitars, soaring strings, classical piano, urban pop rhythms to country toe-tapping beats. Don't just stop with this CD, buy them all. God's annointing and blessing are on them all for you to have a part in. I'm glad I tried something different, because God carried me to the Martins music, and HE spoke to me through the their music, and comfirmed the peace that I had found with His word. THIS CD IS AWESOME AND IS A MUST FOR ALL CHRISIANS WHO SUPPORT CHRISTIAN MUSIC!!"
