"I just discovered The Horse Flies 'Until The Ocean' a few days ago after hearing two songs on a live radio program. I found the CD at a local music store and I am simply blown away by this music!

I would hesitate to even try to categorize it for fear of misleading a reader. The closest I could come to a description might be something like "The Talking Heads on bluegrass instruments". But even that description does not adequately do justice to this incredible collection of songs.

The lyrics and composition definitely remind me of the works of David Byrne, and the vocals sometimes even sounds like David Byrne. But at other times I think I'm listening to Danny Elfman. Especially "Carnival Lips", in both cases. And at other times the vocals are entirely unique. But on top of all of this is the fact that this band is using the instruments of bluegrass: a banjo, fiddle (violin), I think I heard an accordian, and of course conventional stringed and various percussion instruments.

All of the songs have magnificent, mesmerizing arrangements and orchestration, and some of them may get your toes tapping or even get you dancing.

This album has instantly become one of my all-time favorites. I wish I had discovered this album two years ago!
