They're Called "The Haunted" for a Reason
Deathz Head | 12/03/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"And the reason has to do with the band being haunted by bad vocals on this album (though some scientists theorize they're called this because the band decided to pick a stupid name for themselves.)

Nonetheless, this is stellar musicianship. The guitars are beautiful, fast, stimulating. The drums are fast, interesting and with newly added complexity over their previous work.

Unfortunately, the vocals on this suck, as this guy just doesn't compare to Peter Dovling. Heck, he's not even in the right genre. He's doing death metal vocal work for a band whose sound should be hardcore. If I wanted death metal, I'd throw in Cryptopsy.

If you can get an audio filter to ignore this vocalist's unwarranted death grunts, then this album is worth it. Otherwise, you'll have to put up with it if you want to listen to the awesome instrumental work."
