Synopsis

Product Description
The summer of 2007 saw the welcomed return of rock/soul fusion cult phenomena The Family Stand! The three original members, V. Jeffrey Smith, Peter Lord and Sandra St. Victor have re-united and recorded this new CD. Super Sol Nova is The Family Stand at their 'in your face' best. Tackling subjects such as Katrina, terrorism, Enron, and self-reflection, as well as wallowing in the mire of temporary self-deprecation, inevitably rising triumphant to spit fire again. Following three albums which became landmark templates for Soul/Rock fusion, the members spent time writing and producing for the likes of Daryl Hall, Paula Abdul and Curtis Mayfield. Includes: I Thought We Had as seen in the FOX television show 'So You Think You Can Dance'.

CD Reviews

Great reunion CD
J. M. C. Nagtzaam | Alkmaar, The Netherlands | 01/16/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I was at their 'unplugged' performance in the Waerdse Tempel in the Netherlands in May 6 2007: this group has still great quality and power. I still can't understand why they never became worldfamous. This CD has the same quality as Moon in Scorpio, maybe better. If you like funk, soul, rock and a fusion of it all, then buy this CD!"
Sandra St. Victor is back!

"The Family Stand is fantastic, they make great music, but most important: they've got one of the best female singers you EVER heard, Sandra St. Victor. Why she is not world famous, up there with Aretha, Chaka and Mary J. my English vocabulary just can't explain.

Buy this CD, and get Sandra's solo CDs too!
