Synopsis

Product Description
"Some celebrate the 13th day of December as St Lucias Day, otherwise known as The Festival of Lights, which signifies the life of a woman who succeeded many challenges and trials. Parades of lights are displayed in tribute for the saints compassion for human life, and torches represent how she withstood the flames of hate and selfless sacrifice. After three years of trials and tribulations, it is nothing short of absolute that this date in 2005 be the day The Daughters of Bristol emerge amongst the darkness with the release of their EP Voyage. With the release of their debut EP and past single, The Daughters of Bristol manage to continue a traditional arrangement of 80s post punk that combats todays new wave cast and seizes the fans expectations. During the conception of their EP The Voyage, The Daughters have pushed fans to contrive a breath from what has been considered an ashen like genre. The end result equals seductive vocals with danceable beats. Birthed on the front steps of Dulany Auditorium during late night escapes from their University studies in 2001, Edward Bennett and Joseph Davies started crafting songs that were deeply driven by their post punk influences. In 2003, The Daughters of Bristol came fully alive in the eclectic scene of Columbia, MO, with the help of Ryan Mahoney on bass and Jeff Steffens on rhythm guitar. The first single Sweet Lies was released on Crankspiv Records Compilation V. While becoming a frequent act in the Midwest music scene, The Daughters of Bristol guest performed on the KCOU live music show, as well as performed at many well known venues in Missouri such as The Blue Note and The Creepy Crawl. Later this year the song Dance Among The Dead will be heard in the up-coming indie film release The Haunt. For the band, releasing the Voyage EP wouldnt be as easy as planned. After a delay of eight months due to scheduling conflicts with the recording studio, the band decided to use the EP as a stepping stone into the Pacific Northwest. Leading up to the December 13th release of their debut EP Voyage with Magnolia Recordings, The Daughters will be performing live shows all along the west coast and anticipating a second release tentatively titled Jones Hall."
