Synopsis

Product Description
The Corporation formed at the Galaxy Club in Cudahy, a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1968 when the musical climate of the times began veering towards a more studied approach, while retaining elements of the earlier garage sound. The band comprised various Wisconsin musicians from other local bands including brothers John and Nicholas Kondos who wrote most of the songs, and Danny Peil, a scorching vocalist with a long recording history. A few months later they were discovered by Capitol label reps playing at another local club, The Bastille. Though the Corporations eponymous debut LP, recorded in Detroit and issued on Capitol in early 1969, only reached #197 nationally, it proved popular in pockets of the USA and went all the way to #3 in Wisconsin. In 1969-70 the Corporation made two further albums, Hassles In My Mind and Get On Our Swing, which appeared on Age Of Aquarius, a custom rock imprint of the Cuca label, a Wisconsin recording studio and pressing plant whose prolific output has recently been anthologised by Ace across three volumes. The band broke up soon afterwards leaving a trail of mystery. This is the first CD issue of Hassles In My Mind and Get On Our Swing since the original vinyl releases in 1969-70, both of which are extremely rare, as they had only local distribution.Mastered from the original stereo tapes, this generous and attractive package comes with fully annotated booklet notes by Gary E Myers, author of two books on the Milwaukee rock scene of the 50s and 60s.
