CD Reviews

Fort Wayne's only hope
M. C Wright | Indianapolis, IN USofA | 06/14/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"These guys were our home town's heros. They were the best band out there, the one band that everyone in the scene jocked. They were the best local band ever. Fort Wayne, what a funny scene that was. Those were the years were I thought that punk rock was still around, that nothing was being ripped off and everything was new. The Beautys didn't bite people's styles like most bands in Fort Wayne did, they had been around for a while and hardly ever played all ages shows, that's rock n' roll. They played a sort of dated style of punk, with straight ahead female lyrics that were about normal low life activities such as drinking noxious cheap liquor to passing out and other such activites. This record is mostly about drinking and getting high and mostly that's what was going on in Fort Wayne, it's a pathetic town that would probably drive anyone to drink. It rocks, it rocks heavy and they were surely a trip to see live. Too bad though, I heard they broke up, but I could care less. I left behind my own town for greener pastures and I hardly ever claim FTW. If you ever drive through that down please leave as fast as you can, it is the sort of city that will just eat you alive and turn you into the worst person you could imagine. Sort of like Rexburg."
