Great Live recording of a Great Live Band

"The Avett Brothers have been known for years as an incredible live band. They've toured tirelessly for a decade, building a strong following ("The Avett Nation"). They've had a previous collection of live recordings - "Live, Volume 2" - recorded in small clubs in North Carolina. This is a great recording taken from a homecoming concert in Charlotte, and does a fine job of capturing their amazing energy on stage.

No new songs here, but consistently energetic versions of favorites."

"How much fun is an Avett Brothers concert? This live album gives a fair approximation. The breathless pacing, rasping man-screams, sawing strings of cello, bass, and guitars mixed with furiously strummed banjo and percussion all unite in a barely controlled frenzy. Make no mistake - they know what they're doing - they're killing us kindly. If you can't make the concert, buy the cd. If you can make the concert, buy the cd for times between concerts. And buy the DVD while you're at it. Best band in the world!"
