While on tour with Wasp, just after the new millenium, members of Dog Fashion Disco and Mushroomhead talked of a side project which would be a little breather from their full time bands. Well these little bastards got together, and like David Copperfield somehow banging Claudia Schiffer, began creating magic. The album was recorded in bits and pieces and the project rested because of scheduling and geographical roadblocks. Then along came a jackass with a car in his butt named Ryan Dunn that kicked us all in the ass to complete the record. We eventually let him become the 8th member, because we felt bad for him being so famous, rich and handsome. The boys put out The Exotic Sounds of the Alter Boys, and history wasn't affected in the least

CD Reviews

Great Sound!!!!!
W. Hassey | 02/04/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I Enjoy all types of rock, nu-metal, as well as heavy and progressive metal music, so I am not looking for one particular type of music but rather talented musicians. The Alter Boys are just that, very creative and talented.Their sound is a blend of all types of music with a jazz feel. What surprises me with them is that the tracks are very melodic and not disjointed with smooth transition when blending these sounds. If I had to make a comparison to another band I would say if you enjoy the masterful music from Faith No More (with a touch more humor), You would most likely like the Alter Boys. Check them out you can't go wrong. I wish them a long career as they fill a crtical need in what I consider a stagnent music culture. Everyone is beginning to sound the same in their own genre. These guys are a breath of fresh air!!! Keep Up the great work."
Boring

"You have to have a very open ear to music if you plan to buy this album. The first song I heard from this album was "Famine Ghost" a good rock/pop rock song. I had high hopes when I finally bought the album.

The song I sampled was nothing like the rest of the album. While listening to it I felt bored and felt that the songs just ran together.

It just wasn't my cup of tea, I reccomend downloading a few songs off of it first before you decide to buy."
