"This album of unique acustic blues is a classic. I knew of Jim Thackary from his days with the legendary Nighthawks but had never heard of John Mooney. Together they have produced a fun laid back album with great vocals, lyrics, and rootsy guitar. "Leeza" is my pesonal favorite on the disc. "Leeza was a beautiful girl/she had two robber lovers/each one thought he was the best in the land/but neither one knew about the other.""

"I must admit I am a fan of both acoustic blues and Jimmy Thackery. This effort with John Mooney is just the ticket for me. It is raw and gritty, yet up beat. "Oh Louise" is just the song for driving down the road to meat that significant other. "Jamican Mess Around" and "Jitterbug Swing" will keep your toes tapping, or make you want to get up and dance. This is an excellent choice for the blues enthusiast."
