Coming out of the 1960's, singer/songwriter Terry Reid was on a roll. He'd toured with the Stones, been offered the spot of fronting Led Zeppelin and there was an Atlantic Records contract waiting for him (which become the legendary River album in 1973). Captured live at the Isle Of Wight festival in 1970, this previously unreleased live recording features Terry and his band including maverick David Lindley on lead guitar and original King Crimson drummer Michael Giles rocking through nine Terry Reid original classics (including a couple of songs from River). Fans of the Faces, Joe Cocker, Led Zep and Free will enjoy this 1970's British blues rock at its best.

Reid Revered Live

"This is not the place for those new to Reid's music as a start ,"River", "Bang Bang" and "Terry Reid" are the starting points. But for those of us who have followed Reid's musical legacy for the past 35 plus years it is a key element, unlocking many unanswered questions and filling gaps to the pre-River period.
Joining Terry at this point was David Lindley and his contributions are monumental in understanding what could have been had this formation stayed intact post River. Amazing renditions of the Lindley compostion "C'mon Mary Ann" and the Reid/Lindley performance on "No Good Situation" is nothing less then transcendent.
The big surprise is the encore of "Rich Kids Blues" sandwiched inbetween Bob Dylan's "To Be Alone With You" that ends this historic archival performance.
4 stars due to the recording quality but the performance offsets any of the misgivings of the sound. Amazing what could have been had Lindley stayed the course with Reid and toured behind the River. But that's history and this is what we're left with!
Thanks Water for putting this gem together. Now how about new versions of "Seeds of Memory" and "Rogue Waves" so everyone can enjoy Terry Reid and his recorded legacy! What a voice!!"
