The legendary Junior Boys Own began in 1991 as a 12" vinyl only label releasing early works from the likes of Underworld, Xpress 2 and The Chemical Brothers. By the mid 90's Junior Boys Own was arguably the most influential dance label in the World having scored numerous chart and underground hits and million selling debut albums with 'Dubnobasswithmyheadman' by Underworld and 'Exit Planet Dust' by The Chemical Brothers. After seminal releases from Black Science Orchestra, X-Press 2, Fire Island and the Heller & Farley Project it is time for retrospective look back to one of Dance Music's most inspirational independent labels. A Boys Own Odyssey has been perfectly put together by original Junior founders Terry Farley and Steve Hall. Terry has been a DJ since the early 80's and played at all the seminal Acid House clubs including Shoom, Future and Spectrum. He has remixed a who's who of 90's Indie bands such as the Happy Mondays and Primal Scream and has had hits around the World as an artist with his partner Pete Heller. Terry continues to DJ and produce today, promotes the Faith parties and is a constant at the cutting edge of London clubland. Steven Hall cut his teeth on the mid 70's Northern Soul and Funk scenes before throwing himself into Punk. Plotting a course through Dance, Post Punk and Electro in the 80's Acid House found him joining forces with the boys own crew writing for the fanzine, promoting the parties and running the record label. Steve has signed acts such as Underworld, Onedove and the Chemical Brothers and co-manages Underworld today, he also runs Junior Boys Own and is an a/r consultant to dance labels/acts around the world.
