CD Reviews

Fado, fado, fantastico!

"I first became aware of this talented soulful voice through some Madredeus recordings. Which ones? All of them. Seriously, I recommend all of them.

This is truly a gifted voice. I understand no Portuguese. But one does not need to understand the language to enjoy the music, the rhythm, the voice. Teresa provides a journey through spiritual renditions of fado music. And, the oh-so-wonderful added bonus of duets with the like of Jose Carreras.

Any music lover of international sounds will enjoy this. Any music lover for the pure vocal tone, quality and soul will enjoy this item. The more I listen to fado and different artists, vocalists, and rhythmic arrangements, the more it makes me look at and actually seriously consider an extended trip to Portugal and Lisbon. Yeah, how bad can that be?

Highly, highly recommended. And don't overlook her accompaniments with Madredeus."
Simply wonderful

"The quality of the voice is simply extraordinary as can be verified in all of her previous recordings with Madredeus. Hearing her in duet with other excellent voices is at first different, but the combination of voice and music generates an atmosphere that you will not want to escape from. The different rithms of the selection of music is a showcase of her interpretation skills and vocal range ability. Additionally, the attention to detail in the arrangements and the production in general, brings a well balanced equilibrium between the music and the voice, none of them take over the other. Definitely a pleasure for the ears."

"Teresa makes you long to be in Portugal, her voice in combination with the melodies is just plain lovely. I am thrilled to be able to say this album along with her Madredeus albums are just amazing! Some of these songs, especially "Haja o gue Houver" will bring you to tears. They are all fabulous!"
