CD ReviewsFormula techno that works. E. Yarbrough | Sierra Vista, AZ United States | 10/31/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is an astonishing production! It is labeled Volume 1, but alas there were no others. I have only this album and a remix single from it: Symtechnophony No. 5. The absolute best beginning for a classical song is Eine Kleine Technomusic. It starts out stock long enough to begin singing along and humming. Then WHAM! some of the best hooks and techno loops in the industry take over.
As the album progresses this theme never slows down. Anything by Greig is brilliant, and the Mountain King is no exception here. Mars bringer of Techno is a fluid and building progression. There are only a few other places where my taste buds for techno were developed such as the soundtrack for OMF (One Must Fall). Only one part gets on my nerves - the grungy "do ya wanna dance" sample. It only damages one song. The samples and instruments are all typical of techno for the time, but somehow Technoclassix rises above it all." |
