Synopsis

Album Description
From the dark, sweet, blizzard-driven imagination of Tara Busch comes her 2009 analog Synth drenched, Electro-Orchestral Pop album, Pilfershire Lane. It is an album based on a young girl's lonely, melancholic childhood in the 1970's, surrounded by the music of Bowie, Zeppelin, ABBA and Janis Joplin. We journey in the seat of her rocket ship in 'Over the Radio' through the tantrum-stamp of her high school marching band in 'Superfriends'. We then tunnel to the depths and fill our lungs with day old wine and cigarette ash to find the deep sadness of 'Get Drunk And Fuck' until we are thrown a lifeline of sweetness, resurfacing with 'This is Love'. Finally, we return where we start- in her bedroom window wishing on stars and distant planets in 'We Can See Mars'. We never leave her head. Tummy Touch.

CD Reviews

Wonderful Debut
Robert Burns | Tallahassee, Florida United States | 08/23/2009

"In a year filled with many great new records this debut by multi-instrumentalist singer songrwriter Tara Busch truly stands out. Vintage synths, strong melodies & lyrical content along with a knack for experimentation make for a listening experience that is quite special. Comparisons with "Kick Inside" era Kate Bush & Goldfrapp are not without merit but it's presented with such originality that the music exists on a level head and shoulders above the imitators.

"Pilfershire Lane" stands among the great debut records like "The Kick Inside", "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" & Art Bears "Hope & Fears".

Give this modern classic a listen and help it sell the way it deserves to!

Did I forget to mention that fantastic singing voice ? Well it is something very special as well.

Don't forget to give a listen to her version of "Let's Go To Bed" on the "Perfect As Cats" tribute to The Cure. It's also fantastic.

Fresh Content from a Tech Head

(5 out of 5 stars)

"If the artists Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Jean Michel Jarre, or Mike Oldfield appeal to you, then this is a must buy from a fresh, young tech head.

To be honest I've been following the valient vixen of tested technology for some time now and find her first solo release to be a fantastic fresh(wo)man effort!

Her self layered vocals remind one of Kate Bush's earliest and latest efforts; providing haunting harmonies that you'll find re-entering your mind at odd times.

The keyboard work on this album crosses from J.M. Jarre's synthetic imagery to T. Amos's poetry seamlessly.

Like M. Oldfield's and K. Bush's work, Tara takes control over all the details and the consistant high quality of her effort really bends your ears.

My only complaint after the first, fifth, and fiftieth listen is that she has but one album out now.

Tara! Compose! Now!
