Product DescriptionTangents is an evolution of what many bands have and will become in the 21st century: a long distance collaboration between two musicians that takes full advantage of modern technologies. And while some may find that the making of a record in the absence of each other's company could quickly give way to a disjointed disaster, Tangents 'One Little Light Year' sounds completely real, cohesive, and best (and most of all) really...really good.
Tangents is not what you may expect musically from a duo containing drummer Derek Kerswill (Unearth/Seemless) and Dave Witham. Kerswill's musical diversity and rhythmic approach help to provide a solid foundation for the album, propelling the tracks forward with great intensity. Add to it the lush and organic sound of vocalist/guitarist Dave Witham and Tangents soars in the vein of Jeff Buckley, As Tall As Lions, or even (if you may) Radiohead. Witham's magnificent voice rises over a spiraling sonic backdrop with dazzling control and splendor. The album's ambitious songwriting creates the catchiest music either musician has released to date. It is an album hard to ignore and even harder to forget.
