"Switchyard is the project of undiscovered San Diego and Las Vegas based singer and songwriter Rachel Bellinsky, who approaches the music from an array of different angles, each her own -- The Secret Life of Spiders is refreshing in its originality and virtually complete lack of banality.

Expect arresting vocals, stunning arrangements, and lyrics that would do justice to anyone. All these songs are straight-to-the-heart authentic, with shades of Fiona Apple, Elliott Smith, Angelo Badalamenti, Leonard Cohen, and Wayne Shorter.

Bellinsky came in 2nd in the jazz category of the most recent John Lennon songwriting contest."

"I love this CD, and like all great art it takes me by the hand, tells me a story, paints me a picture, leads me to dance, makes me sing with joy, and makes me want to create more art. Every song is a new destination, and so their name makes sense: the switchyard is where the journey begins.

"the secret life of spiders" has left me bitten under the skin and paralyzed, each song brilliantly crafted and perfectly delivered. Rachel Bellinsky has a beautiful voice, and is one of those rare singers that doesn't oversing, letting her lyrics resonate with their own strength.

Oh yeah, there is a Misfits cover on the CD, also. Never has Glenn Danzig sounded so tender. Did I mention how I love this CD?"
