Many consider Krupa to be one of the most influential drummers of the 20th century, particularly regarding the development of the drum kit. Gene Krupa, who played with Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton in the 1930s, among others, displayed a level of showmanship never to be equaled.
In keeping with the Swing Masters theme of authenticity, musicians that actually played with Gene Krupa are featured on this newly recorded tribute CD.
