Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. A few years later Crime of the Century showed up, courtesy of an older brother. We played the grooves out of several copies. IMO it's a really great album (their only great album) that has held up over the years. 30+ years later and on another continent and I still love listening to it!" MFSL 24K gold review. R.
