The one that got away!

Got to be one of the most underrated hardcore bands from the late 80s. While YOT, GB, Slapshot etc where the big names that everyone was talking about at the time Supertouch never seemed to get quite the press that they did. Pity, as they were anything as good if not better than them.

Taking name and inspiration from Bad Brains you can realy hear it on the vocals and the rhythm of the songs (the whole album is kind of like a slowed down Bad Brains) Lyrics cover the usual 80s hardcore 'personal' topics.

Think Quicksands 1st lp for similar style of music and you come close to the sound you have hear. They may have been a revelation records band but were not a straight edge band (not that it should be of any concern)

Well worth a listen.

Greatest album out there

"Alright. Im 18 years old and this is my personal favorite hardcore cd Ive heard in those 18 years. I discovered this band through a book titled ALL AGES. They list abunch of the most important hardcore/sxe bands from the late 80's-early 90's. This band is the best in my opinion. Better than GORILLA BISCUITS, BOLD, YOUTH OF TODAY, NO FOR AN ANSWER. The only bands that almost match this band from back then is UNIFORM CHOICE, JUDGE, or BURN. Now lets talk about this masterpiece cd entitled THE EARTH IS FLAT. It starts off with a song called ENGINE. Great song 10/10. Nice melodic intro to this cd. One of their more famous songs. Another key part in this band is they cover topics that all hardcore bands should mention. Songs about expressing your mind(WHAT IF/HOW DO YOU FEEL)and covering more serious topics(THE PAINTED SKY).Alright where I left off. The second song kicks up the pace in the cd titled WHAT IF. This is classic SUPERTOUCH right here. I think I relate to this song more than any other song. 10/10. The next song is ANYTHING IT TAKES. More of a classic rock sound than hardcore sound but still real good. Note the bass in this cd, very different than those other older hardcore bands. The next song VENDOR is the song Revelation put out on one of their compilations. That quick paced Classic sound only SUPERTOUCH can make. Any one who considers SUPERTOUCH a sxe band is a freaking idiot if they heard the next song. LOCK OUT is about The vocalist, Mark Ryan, getting high in his basement. Nuff said, not sxe. I also heard he is doing porn now but im not 100% sure on that. DETECTIVES is the next song. Nice musical introduction to the next song THE PAINTED SKY. One of their more f-cked up sounding songs about industry destoying the earth. 10/10. HOW DO YOU FEEL is their most melodic song ever written. Another song about expression. One of my personal favorites on the cd. 10/10. GRABBING HOLD is the next song about doing what makes you feel right. If there is one song on this cd I think they could of done without it would be this song. I would of rather it be replaced by SEARCHING FOR THE LIGHT ( my personal favorite song written by them, can be found on the NEW YORK HARDCORE COMPILATION released by Revelation.) UNDERSTANDING is the next song. Great song. 5+ minutes of pure hardcore. Unheard of back in the Youth Crew days.10/10. The last song on the cd is SHAME. Great closing song for this cd. Hell, great song period.10/10. If I had to rate this cd on a scale of 1-100 it would get a 95. No flaws I just think they could of added SEARCHING FOR THE LIGHT and TRUE COLORS DONT RUN. Buy this cd for a true hardcore classic."
