CD Reviews

Essential Listening. Period.
Ian T. Hegarty | NYC | 10/27/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"They can't play very well, the production factor is zero, whatever. These guys are the real deal. "all i know is i gotta stay away from the auto parts store." -- They weren't trying to be funny or hip. These are regular dudes living in a time and a place, and i think this record reflects that beautifully. Signed to Asian Man, but just never got famous like Alkaline Trio. I only hope that they made it through Katrina. I don't know where your money goes if you buy this CD, but you should definitely get it."
Why do I actually like it?

"First of all, the Supaflies are some kind of a fast pace ska-punk-hard-rock band, I know that this is not a perfect definition of their music, but sorry, I can't exactly say what kind of music they play. Some songs are plain stupid hard-rock, while others are really funny and catchy ska songs. After all, I really liked this CD, but like the title of my review says, I can't really say why. It sounds a bit like they play in their garage, the lyrics are not that amazing, actually they repeat almost every sentence at least three times, and drums sound like a twelve year old boy would try to beat his little sister. So, what all that means is, that you shouldn't expect too much from this record, still, if you are into ska-punk I would recommend you to buy the CD. Just don't expect too much quality, expect energy!"
