Sudden Rush is political hence the ridicluous tags from the ignorant mainlanders (and others) who have no clue of what Hawai'i is like and how the ORIGINAL INHABITANTS have been treated and in the past 49 years had their land illegally co-opted by the US in conjuction with their language and culture which is only in the past 15 years coming back...for more on this see my review on "Nation on the Rise" by the same crew.

Getting past all that this album is AMAZING...yes it is polical but in a very positive way. It does not attack "WHITE people" (in fact it stays true to the REAL HAWAIIAN CULTURE which is to not judge people by the color of their skin) but it does advocate for the right to practice their language and culture and to not have their lands trampled on by the military and tourism and rich white people who have driven up the real estate prices so high over the years that MOST surviving Hawaiians have had to leave because the cost of living is ridiculously high and no reperations or indigenious rights have been given to Hawaiian people which is a major crime. How can people who live below the poverty level because their culture is not capitolist in nature afford to buy or rent a home that averages nearly $700,000?

The lyics are only threatning if you are a racist white person or a real estate investor threatened by these truths...going beyond that the music is unreal...an undescribable fusion of Hip Hop, Traditional Hawaiian influences, raggae, roots and more.

A must have for any lover of really good music!"

"This album is astoundingly beautiful, and a refreshing change to 'classic' hawai'ian music. I am not normally a fan of hip-hop, but I can listen to this album over and over. The band does advocate for native sovereignty (hence the angry tags someone has added to this album) but that doesn't make them anti-american. It makes them hawai'ian patriots."
