CD Reviews

A treasury of old music played with much refinement
David Nortman | Toronto, Canada | 06/11/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is thoroughly enjoyable, with warm, superb playing throughout. Some unforgettable gems: in Track 17, a Gagliarda by Gesualdo, his tormented mind speaks directly at you--played with great subtlety, this track alone is worth the price of admission!"
Buyer Beware!
Kurt Keefner | Outside Washington, DC | 02/08/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a very good album, but be apprised it was reissued as a much cheaper bargain disc under the title "Italian Renaissance Dances, vol. 1." Save yourself some money. The cover art (and possibly the liner note) are different, but the music is the same."
