Synopsis

Product Description
In Stories, the new album from Kevin Kastning (USA) and Mark Wingfield (UK). 13 new compositions featuring Kevin Kastning on 36-string Double Contraguitar, 17-string Contraguitar, 12-string Alto guitar, and Classical guitar, with Mark Wingfield on Electric guitar. Kastning and Wingfield are contemporary guitar explorers. Barry Cleveland of Guitar Player magazine said of their 2011 Greydisc release I walked into the silver darkness: Open-minded listeners who surrender to the music s subtle gravitational pull will find themselves entering hitherto unexplored realms of extraordinary beauty and multidimensionality. Mark Wingfield is an internationally recognized guitar virtuoso. Kevin Kastning invented the 30-string Contra-Soprano guitar, the 17-string and 16-strinmg Contraguitars, which he plays on this new recording, and has been called the most modern guitarist in the United States. Both players have been internationally acclaimed for their unique musical vision and innovative approaches to their instruments. This album was recorded using the high recording standards of Greydisc Records; a recording of depth and detailed resolution. The recording brings forth new acoustic landscapes of imagination and deep introspection using a palette of newly invented guitar-family instruments both acoustic and electric to evoke stunning beauty. InnerViews magazine said of I walked into the silver darkness, One of the finest albums of this or any other year. WFMU radio in New York City named I walked into the silver darkness as one of their Favorite Albums of 2011. I walked into the silver darkness was the subject of a -the making of...- feature article in the September 2011 issue of Guitar Player magazine.
