CD Reviews

Great sound

"This is a great CD with a fantastic start in 30/30-150. I saw them live opening for Disturbed, and fell in love right there."
A Very Nice Album

"Stone Sour is Corey Taylor's project, who is the singer of the popular metal group Slipknot. It shows a different side to Corey Taylor with it's piano intro on "Zzyzx Road" that goes into a sort of power ballad, which is nothing you would expect from the Slipknot singer.

This is Stone Sour's second release. The other difference to the Slipknot sound is in Corey Taylor's vocals. The metal maniac sings more than shouts the lyrics, like he use to with previous releases. Fellow band member/guitarist James Root adds to this Stone Sour album. I like the way it sounds like he had fun making this album."
An Amazingly Great Album

"I picked this up, but not because their lead vocalist is Corey Taylor or because one of their guitarist is James Root, both from Slipknot! Yeah! I picked this up because I liked the different sound of Stone Sour. The songs sounded different in many ways actually. There aren't as many screams and loud vocals in Stone's songs, while in Slipknot there are plenty.

"30/30-150" was released on their record label's website before it was released. This song is amazing, great for an album opening. I also really like "Hell & Consequences". Also really good is "Reborn". They shot a music video for it. You gotta see the video. The last track "Zzyzx Rd." starts differently and is melodic and I really like it. Actually, I like the whole album."
