Steve March Tormé is the pre-eminent voice

"Steve March Tormé is the pre-eminent voice in jazz/swing crooner music today; a focussed and coherent body of work is the best way to describe his newest album "The Essence of Love". Only a Tormé understands which way the great American songbook should be sung, and anyone who enjoys Harry Connick Jr and canucks like Buble or Krall will find themselves overwhelmed by Steve Tormé's mastery of the music. "The Essence of Love" is building upon his previous 2 albums as a slow and steady recognition is beginning to happen in the Jazz world which will move the boundaries of music just as his father so famously did.
The mix and production is clean throughout each song, and sounds great being blasted through a set of Koss headphone out of a NAD receiver and Harmon Kardon CD player. 14 solid tracks, which flow evenly and smoothly as any classic album should.
The linear notes and album cover add to the overall package. My one and only constructive complaint is that the album isn't available on the vinyl format; alas I'm from the old school. Most kids don't know what it means when someone states they still enjoy their Akai turntable...Do yourself a favour and buy it ASAP, you will not be disappointed because once in a lifetime a man knows his moment, and Steve March Tormé's moment is coming soon. Hopefully with a proper and in-depth tour of Canada Steve Tormé can increase his album sales north of the border, up Canada way!
The album rates a solid 5/5"
Fabulous listening experience

"Steve has a very soothing voice and his album is easy to listen to. It is very romantic and I love listening to songs that I enjoy -- and maybe even sing along. He has brought back the songs of another era, but added his own signature to them. I have not tired of listening to this album."
