A Great Album

"Contrary to the view of the other reviewer, I think this album is great. It gives me the same feeling as hearing the old bootleg recording of Charlie Parker playing cherokee in a hotel room in 1942 (the one where all you hear is a guitar comping and Parker sounds young and optimistic.) Hearing Coleman playing to just Holland's bass gives an intimate, pure representation of his harmonic concept. While the lack of a band might be a challenge to some listeners, to others it will provide the the most rewarding of experiences... that is the, the true meaning of jazz, 2 musicians meeting without the need for anything else, and laying down thier thoughts and emotions in the present.. raw, unadulterated, and completely in the moment."
