Ever Hear of Pavement, Jackass?

"Anyone who has never heard of Steve Malkmus has no business reviewing ANY cds let alone this one. While I'll freely admit that this group of b-sides is not that great, or a good place to start if you want to get familiar with an opening act, it would help to get a bit of musical knowledge before you go around bashing people's work."
Quality AND Quality

"You'll have to excuse my fellow reviewers below me, they're obviously in the middle of a feud of some sort. What we have here are some great b-sides for anyone who wasn't lucky enough to grab the limited edition of pig lib. You see this is the bonus EP that came with the digipak version of the album. There are three great studio b-sides here that easily could have made the album, plus two covers of the type of insane British folk-rock that has inspired the band to make such great music. This release could easily be awarded 5 stars, but the import price brings that down to four, but basically it's a two cd single set of songs on one cd. If you are a Radiohead fan and only listen to music that you think Radiohead would like then you should first get some Pavement and come at this from the right angle. This will keep you from regretting your purpose and hopefully get some great indie into your life."
Scene rock

"It's hard to tell if SM is poking fun at the current glut of "scene" bands like The Rapture and Stellastar*, but it doesn't really matter because "Darkwave" is thunderously amazing in it's Cure guitar lines and Talking Heads half-spoken/half-yelped bizarro lyrics. It sounds nothing like Pavement, but it's quality Malky all the same."
