Synopsis

Product Description
Inpendum the second full length album from State of the Union and the follow up to 2002's critically acclaimed Black City Lights. Picking up where its predecessor left off, Inpendum delivers 13 new tracks of hard driving synths, melodic undertones, pounding beats and ambient interludes that will captivate the listener from first play. Tracks such as Timerunner, Makina Mata, and Unforgiving Time are guaranteed to pack dance floors from coast to coast while tracks like Suffer the Fallen and Lights in the Abyss showcase a more mature and melodic side. Inpendum is a solid, well rounded release that will suit both the club goers and the casual listener.

Taken off-guard

"I was perusing Amazon's MP3 downloads and accidentally stumbled accross this one from Backlash. Heliotrope mixes many elements of synthpop, ebm and darkwave. Vocals remind me of Duran Duran a little bit, and very well done. The mix is clean and well engineered.

The first track imho is the album's strongest, danciest and most ebm-like...the rest are more synth-poppy and darkwave-ish. Backlash does incorporate their own sound and you'll journey down an interesting passage in each song. I love music that takes me places in an almost metaphysical way which isn't quite explainable, and this one definitely does it for me!

I would highly recommend picking this up for any synthpop/ebm enthusiast. I also highly recommend the single "Lodestar", it's has some very creative and fun remixes, along with a couple other tracks/mixes.
