"I suppose the advent of our cultural linkage to the 60's and 70's as of late and the resurgence of "Lounge Music" for a short time contributed to the revival of the music genre that George Melachrino helped invent....that of lush romantic mood music with clever, inventive arrangements of strings...and winds... Having grown up with the "American Airlines-Music Till Dawn" syndicated radio show and having listened to it's signature theme "Dusk" composed by Armstrong Gibbs and performed by George Melachrino and his orchestra ...it's really gratifying to have some of his identifiable sound back....and in grand style! Robert Mandell has archived and stayed true to the orchestration/ arragements of the original Gelorge Melachrino Orachestra charts...They are performed in the "old style" that we knew and loved from our past...but sonically are of very good quality! CD label "Vocalion" is to be congratulated for it's fine additions to this genre and to it's credible job of re-mastering the material that it's lovingly displayed with it's last several CD's! Hopefully this is just the begining...and that maybe somebody will take the cue and re-release the "RCA-Living Music" series of Melachrino albums that taught Faith, Montavani, Chacksfield, et al. what it's all about! George Melachrino... and his orchestra helped write the book! If mood/MOR music is for you, then grab this English import quickly...you won't be disappointed!"

"If you love beautiful music get this cd.Robert Mandell uses heavy strings.If you've heard his version of Mamselle played on Escape Xm 78 you know what I'm talking about.This is beautiful music at it's best.The other songs are relaxing as well."
