Great modern blues

"I used to go see the original Chicken Shack back in '69 - Stan Webb was always a guitar hero for me.He could be absolutely stunning. If you can find them,(not here) I highly recommend his self- penned "Worried About My Woman" an early single in a frantic Buddy Guy style, as well as his absolutely classic version of "When My left Eye Jumps" again a Buddy Guy cover, a slow blues released as a "B" side to an early single. Two albums available through Amazon, "40 Blue Fingers Freshly Packed and Ready to Serve" their first release, and "OK Ken?" which I believe was the second album, although uneven, have some classic Stan Webb and Christine Perfect, well worth checking out.Chicken Shack's original bass and drum lineup(Dave Bidwell and ?) were one of the finest, right up there with McVie and Fleetwood. They were all on the same label "Blue Horizon" a CBS subsidary. With regard to this album "Plucking Good", I must admit that I was unfamiliar with it, having got tired of the Shack when Stan decided to go commercial- as a heavy rock guitarist he is very unoriginal compared to his beautiful earlier blues work- and I did not expect a great deal when I sampled the tracks available here, but, if the rest of the tracks on the album are anything like as good as what I have heard so far, this album is like the old, original Chicken Shack- superb blues."
