"Admittedly, I haven't heard much of Spahn Ranch's newer material (last album I heard was "Beat Noir", which I didn't particularly care for). But I think I can safely say that this old release is quite different from what they're putting out nowadays. For one thing, this features a different vocalist, Scott Franklin, who doesn't sound much like Athan Maroulis. I'd first heard them on the first edition of Cleopatra's "Industrial Revolution" compilation, which featured this EP's "Mind Riot" (I think it was replaced by "Succumber" on later editions). "Mind Riot", "Layin' To Burn", "See My Knife", and "P.O.W." are all great pieces of early '90s industrial music."
