Synopsis

Product Description
It is with a great deal of enthusiasm that the band Spaced Out offers its most recent album entitled 'Evolution'. This, their fifth studio recording, is the result of a collective effort with the goal to achieve a style of music as original and innovative as possible. The music that the band offers keeps evolving. During the creative process, the concept of the band not repeating itself and bringing it's musical ideas to another level are constants. One thing that doesn't change is the presence of each member's personality expressed through his instrument without any compromise. Improvisation is sill an important part of the music performed by the band, while the continuous exploration with unconventional rhythm, highly expressive harmonic colours and intricate interplay is an element that is still present. The band Spaced Out has been producing its music since 2000 and will continue to do so as long as the creative ideas keep flowing. The band has performed at international festivals such as Nearfest (USA) and Crescendo (France).

CD Reviews

The greatest band you've never heard
Kevin Delgadillo | Scotts Valley, CA USA | 11/01/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is another solid (and perhaps superior) release from what I think is the greatest prog/fusion band most folks have never heard about. It's a crime this band is not top of mind withn band like Allan Holdsworth, Planet X, etc. This band is truly phenomenal. The brainchild of bass player Antoine Fafard, this band blurs the lines between jazz, fusion, and prog metal. This is hardcore technical prog/fusion music music played effortlessly without the pompous attitude we've been accustomed to, with serious technique and compositional skills not seen in decades. Truly mindblowing and groundbreaking, I can't believe this band doesn't have more exposure in the fusion/prog scene.

Highly recomended, this is a MUST BUY for all fans who love technical, yet effortless, prog/fusion.
