Excellent

"By all rights, Seattle-based SOL should be much more famous then they are. This is first-rate hip-hop in the tradition of Digable Planets and Tribe Called Quest. The group's smooth flow and laid-back grooves satisfy the ears and the spine, while the lyrics eschew hip-pop materialism and thuggery in favor of political consciousness and "positivity." The downside is that, like most rap albums, this one is uneven: 4 tracks are outstanding (2, 3, 5, and 15), 7 are solid, and 3 are poor (the remaining 5 are interludes). But that's enough to make it a great album, delivering a quality vibe throughout with quite a few moments of brilliance and only occasional lapses."

"first, they rock shows like no one. if you like ozomatli and the roots, ya gotta check source of labor out. stolen lives is a standout in these times of fake wannabees and the hollow tales of emcees. source of labor brings wisdom on love, family, hip-hop, and does it over bangin' beats. "full circle", "easy" and "wetlands" truly stand out.the group, emcees wordsayer and negus , and dj vitamin d hail from seattle where they hold down the scene. wordsayer is the curator of the hip-hop exhibits at the jimi hendrix museum and is responsible for bringing everyone like company flow to mos def to the northwest.source of labor on tour with dilated peoples to support this new release. definately cop it and catch their live shows when they come thru town."
