Synopsis

Album Description
The London based DJ-Project SOUNDS FROM THE GROUND were beyond their time in 1996, when they first developed their style and released their first production. Warm beats - electronic Ambient - the band describes their style as "cultivated highly developed Ambient". Today, the music is more known as "Lounge" with electronic influence from Drum & Bass and Ambient. SOUNDS FROM THE GROUND - that's Elliot Morgan Jones and Nick Woolfson. They met 1995 roaming around the London Underground Dance scene; both used to work in the music business - one was working in label management, the other was club promoter and what started out as a studio project, slowly received a "face" in the nightclub scene - the team turned out to be a perfect DJ-match. "Footprints", the latest album, released on Blue Flame's label Black Flame is a selection of tracks that were developed in the last 2 years.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Sounds from the Ground's Footprints is a sort of best of from their first four to six albums, with one extra track not available elsewhere. The extra track is so-so, and I've heard everything else on this cd on their other cd's, so if you're a fan you might consider this a rip-off. However, if you're new to their music, this would be a good introduction and likely whet your appetite for more of their exhilerating catalog."
