Sea Storm Blows Plus" is the debut album from The Sonnets, a 5-piece band out of Malmö, Sweden, headed by songwriter Per Magnusson. The Sonnets are quite fond of writing handsomely breezy pop songs; frolicsome and playful, fellow Scandinavians Eggstone comes to mind. Ostensibly, "Sea Storm Blows Plus" is a shimmering production which is very much influenced by sunny sixties guitar pop. Substantially, The Sonnets blend within their swinging, sweet melodies glorious string arrangements and resplendent piano playing. And atop everything else is Magnusson's affecting voice that's as propelling as the layered, infectious pop The Sonnets create. The Japanese edition on Quince Records adds 4 songs taken from their debut single "City, Spark, Fire" (2003).
