Superb uptown afrocuban jazz performances!

"Flawlessly engineered and arranged, this recording features Afrocuban changui (a form of the son popularized by Arsenio Rodriguez)--inspired uptown jazz reduced to its most essential, its most minimal--while all along retaining a scorching intensity. The individual performances are consistent and virtually perfect. I've worn the bits and bytes off this CD, and everyone I play it for goes nuts, as they do guitarist/composer/producer Benjamin Lapidus' other Sonido Isleño production "¿Quién Tiene Ritmo?. I'm getting it for all my friends!"
