Forward into the Past

"As the CD begins playing, there is an exotic, but familiar texture of Indian influence that sounds for all the world like we're about to fall into George Harrison's Within You and Without You. But the subsequent music never transforms into the glimmering psychedelic pop of Pepper. It remains textural and subliminal in a way that is deeply moving.

Despite the heavy use of familiar instrumentation, this music is never derivative, but gently exploring in its own seductive rhythms. The beat is prominent, but this is not dance hall. Turn the lights down low and you are transported to a place that is both comfortable and adventurous.

Hmmm, it seems easier to describe what its not than what it is, which may the best compliment for music that is also so captivating. Strongly recommended."
