"They lasted only a few years and churned out only 2 albums (the other being the great but heartbreaking I Do Not Love You), yet Small Factory's music packs an emotional wallop that still sticks with me even now, 15 years after first hearing their music. The songs are raw, loose, and ragged, but the dual vocal interplay between the female drummer and male bassist is as sweet as you can imagine, without ever succumbing to gooey sentimentalizing or naive pandering. The dearth of platitudes about love is refreshing, as the opener "The Last Time that We Talked" kicks off with the words "The last time you said we were through/and i was still getting f***ed/it felt really good." Yeah, it's like that. Yet it still manages to be one of the most romantic albums I've ever heard. Beat that with a stick."
