CD Reviews

You're all idiots!
Christian Nelson | Jacksonville, Florida United States | 12/08/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Most of these reviews are from dummies who didn't like Dicknity, which leaves any kmfdm record in the dust. Money is the key factor here. Slick Idiot are scraping funds to produce albums. They had to take turns driving to the gigs on their tour in a van. This album proves that you can make something great out of almost nothing. What Screwtinized has is variance. Anyone who listens to it will like at least a couple tracks. If your a loyal fan of these guys, you'll love every minute of it. Did anyone notice that kmfdm lost all sense of fun and funky craziness when Esch and Guenter left? If you prefer the same repetitive metal and patriotism overkill that the "great" konietzko has now been reduced to, than go buy WWIII. Maybe if Slick Idiot made "limited edition" (hah) tshirts of every possible lyric combination from their songs and overpriced "limited edition" tour posters for every step they take, they might be able to make a decent record too."
This sounds more like KMFDM than KMFDM does.

"Actually, Slick Idiot is probably better than the current KMFDM. I've liked both this album and Dicknity more than the last couple KMFDM releases. This CD sort of reminds me of Angst or Money, but with some experimental sounds in it. The programming and guitar on this are awesome. The way it blends together on Wonderful World gets stuck in your head... FOREVER. NY Boogie has the Go To Hell drums in it, too. These guys definitely need the money, so buy the album!"
THE DEVIL'S GOT A HOLD OF ME! HALLELUJAH!

"I LOVE SCREWTINIZED! I honestly don't think it could be any better. I have the last Slick CD and the remix too (fav song "Merci Beauscrew" remixed by Loppy of Hanzel Und Gretyl). But no doubt, Screwtinized is my favorite CD right now.

I also am a fan of KMFDM. WWWIII totally worked for me too. I was already upset with the current administration and expressing it. It motivated me the same way listening to AIR AMERICA did. I am not blowing sunshine up anybody's arse here. It was, in my opinion, really good and it hit the spot at the time. But I need something else now... Something less angry (so I don't pop a vein in my head)... Something up-lifting and fun... Something fast, wicked and sexy! If you think you need to take sides, GROW UP! You're allowed to like both.

SCREWTINIZED has some of the sweetest melodies and guitar work that I have heard in a long time. Musicianship is present here. En Esch's vocal combine with the female vocals by TR2, Michelle Boback, and Abby Travis (ooh-la-la) to make heavenly harmonies. Truly beautiful. And still others make you scream or thrash along. Like before, Guenter's guitar playing is exceptional. And the best part is, there is more of it this time!

I loved SCREWTINIZED from start to finish... but hey, maybe I am just an idiot... A SLICK IDIOT! :)"
