CD Reviews

Clever lyrics and catchy riffs make the sounds
A Tremble (atremble@princeton.edu) | princeton,NJ / san diego,CA | 11/20/1998

"I've followed Skanic since they were a local Solona Beach band. Their genuine Ska sound is a unique mix of horns and catchy lyrics you'll be singing for days. They're original and on the rise. Jodi Silstrop makes the band and if you like ska, don't miss these San Diego locals."
Its Moon Ska Records, what do you expect?!

"Wow. This is a great cd. Think of throwing the specials, the voodoo glow skulls, and the toasters in a blender (and a little crushed ice). What you get is a Skanic smoothie. Its got a great sound with distinct upbeats. You can't help but get up, bend over, and start crankin' those arms. Moon Ska Records (R.I.P.) is the greatest ska label ever. Though I must say this is my first Skanic cd, so I don't know how it stacks up to their others."
