And that s not even mentioning Glenn s duet partner Marilyn Child, who was a fixture on the folk scene after getting her start hosting a weekly radio show on KPFA in Berkeley. It s a diverse program of English and American folk songs that the two tackle on this 1957 release.

The music is not all there

"I grew up loving this album, so I was excited to see it released on CD. Unfortunately, the CD is not faithful to the original. Erik Darling's banjo parts on Three Jolly Sailor Boys and New York Girls have been deleted, along with the harmony vocals. This leaves these tracks, two of my favorites, sounding very incomplete. The audio quality on the rest of the tracks is variable. Some are good, but some have considerable clipping noise. I am planning to transcribe my old album. At least I'll have all the songs."
