Album Description On his 2008 international debut album, U-Catastrophe,by Simon Collins, the son of U.K. superstar Phil Collins. The album is a conglomeration of sound, melding digital effects and transient random noise bursts with huge guitar hooks. The widescreen sonic approach amplifies the power of more tender moments such as 'Us (love transcends)' and 'Unconditional', songs written as heartfelt and raw expressions of love and gratitude to friends and family members that supported Collins through what he freely admits have been some significant 'peaks and troughs.' In 2007, Collins signed with Razor & Tie and set to work on what would be his first US release. Simon Collins has an excellent voice and his overall sound is perfect balance of pop/rock (a little too weighty for pop, a little too melodious for rock). This is the sort of album you can play all the way through and enjoy every song - there's not a 'skippable' track in the lot. Excellent drum work and some very nice guitar as well.
