Great CD from one of the best bands playing traditional jazz

"YES...YES...YES!!! This CD is a must for experienced listeners of traditional, New Orleans jazz as well as for people just getting into the sound. I have heard Chris Tyle's Silver Leaf Band live now 2 years running at the Can-Can Jazz Cafe on Bourbon St. during the 1999 and 2000 Fr. Quarter Festivals. I plan to return to hear the band play this spring as well. They capture the essence of the Dixieland sound with their crisp, but not-too-studio-enhanced, renditions of some great old New Orleans tunes. Chris Tyle's horn playing is superb! The rest of the musicians are extremely accomplished and have played with the Silver Leaf Band as well as others during their collective long years of experience. The vocals are just right for this style of jazz. I often close my eyes while kicking back and listening to this CD, imagining the band playing in some of the jazz joints along Bourbon St. 75 years ago. Yes, this current collection of traditionalists would definitely fit in. Again, if you're looking for a superb example of early jazz to complement or augment your collection, start with this CD...you won't regret it!!!"
