"The whole performances on this cd is beautifully done but I want to tell you about the Vieuxtemps one...
Minz's performance has enormous dash, and real lyrical magic too, both in the lovely secondary theme of the first movement and in his meltingly ethereal playing of the Gretry theme (from the opera Lucile) which Vieuxtemps happily borrowedfor the beautiful Adagio...Mehta obviously caught up in the inspiration of the solo playing, provides an excellent accompaniment and this is another example of a memorable live performance recorded 'on the wing'. It was made in the Mann auditorium, Tel Aviv, and if the acoustic is not especially flattering, the sound is obviously truthful and well balanced...
