CD ReviewsA Winner. 06/24/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "'Tell Me Ma,' the excellent opening track, was a big chart hit for Sham Rock. If you liked that, and enjoy feelgood songs that get you out of your armchair, then this is for you. Whether it's their own songs or standards like Whiskey In The Jar, Sham Rock do a superb job, often with a completely new feel. (Like the haunting 'Rock Of Ages' and the traditional Lavenders Blue - given a very clever new sound.) 'Watch Me Now' is a brilliant 'girl power', up tempo, foot-stomper that sounds like a sure fire hit to me. But, it's not all about big, pop/rock/party songs. There are also some gorgeous ballads too. The album is worth buying just for the beautiful (& beautifully sung) Paul McCartney song 'I'm Carrying'. For anyone who is bored with albums full of 'filler tracks' you wont be disappointed with this. There is not a 'dud' song on the whole album. A winner !" Couple of good songs, disappointing Ellen Mangan | Boston, Ma USA | 01/28/2005 (2 out of 5 stars) "I love "I'll tell me ma", but unfortunately it was the only really good track on this CD. Most of the others are treacly versions of songs that have been done better before. If you love the Pogues, the Chieftains, and so on, most of the tracks on this album will make you shudder." Irish dancers pleasure Slipped My Jig | 11/29/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "coming from an irish dancer's point of view, this is the best performance music! the upbeat rythms and lyrics make everyone want to clap and start dancing themselves! i definitely reccomend to all, not just IDers!"
