CD Reviews

Shaking Tree
Malik Page | Tempe, AZ | 10/27/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Shaking Tree is one of the better up and coming bands I have heard in a while. Shaking Tree uses a nice blend of acoustic guitar, violin, mandolin. The bass and drums/percussion form a strong backbone to this band. This band is a pleasent change from a lot of the garbage my radio stations have been feeding me. Check out a live show and thier newest album "Matter of Choice". As the title says, it is a matter of choice and that is the reason this band gets my vote."
Refreshing Sounds

"The more I listen to this album, the more I get hooked. The lyrics have an edginess to them and is a refreshing change to music fans wanting something different. Musically, the band takes its direction from some popular artists, such as Paul Simon and Rusted Root, but has managed to interject some very original touches. If you like a band that can actually play their instruments, write their own songs, and are able to actually sing, then buy this album. I promise you won't be disappointed."
This is my FAVORITE CD!

"Being a music lover, I recommend this cd above all others that have come out in the last few years. Shaking Tree are a hugely talented group who will, without doubt, be recognized as one of the finest bands in our country. This cd has a brilliant combination of sounds and rhythms and I can't wait to see what else they have to offer. I was lucky enough to see them live and I left feeling as though I had witnessed something great, something relevant, and a band that will soon explode onto the music scene."
