CD Reviews

Great Dance Music!

"I have to say that I have waited for the new September album for a long time. After making two excellent albums self-titled and "In Orbit", the new album, the third "Dancing Shoes" continues the same style as the two earlier ones - but more fresh! If you have heard the single track "Can't Get Over", you know what I'm meaning. The new album is almost as good as their first one. There's many great songs - and Petra's voice is just awesome! I'm lucky to live next to Sweden, so I get their albums almost as they are released - so no wonder I have managed to listen to this one more than 10 times. But don't worry, now you have chance to get it!!!

1. Candy Love - Simply amazing opening track. Really beautiful song! Really positive - great dance song! 9/10

2. Until I Die - Also a very good - I liked this song when I heard it for the first time. 10/10

3. My Neigbourhood - At first I didn't think this is such a good song but after 8 times listening it started to feel a great song. Get a attention to the first second - Petra sings acapella. 9/10

4. Can't Get Over - the first single track - defintely the best song on the album. 10/10

5. Because I Love You - this song is something different from other songs. It's great - it reminds of some Kylie Minogue songs - strange, ain't it? 9/10

6. Taboo - a great, energic song 8/10

7. Follow me - not my favourites, but still a good song. Maybe a little bit simple for a September song. 7/10

8. R.I.P. - A great song! Quite sad feelings in this song but it give depth to this album. 9/10

9. Start It Up - This song could have been on the album "In Orbit" because it's style is quite poppy. 10/10

10. Just an Illusion - Quite a strange song. Could have been also on "In Orbit" - I don't like the male vocals in this song but Petra's voice gives pleasure (always). 7/10

11. Sad song - Quite a positive song musically I think. Not the best, not the worst. 8/10

12. Freaking Out - A great closing for this album...I think. It reminds me of their self-titled album. 8/10

So, overall I think this is a great album. And defintely better than "In Orbit" and almost as good as s/t. It's same good old dance music, just like the two first ones. September fans will love this album.

A real Stunner!

"This is the album from September that we have all been waiting for. Where to start? Hooks galore, intelligent lyrics, superb vocals. 'Candy Love' opens the album on a great note, strong synth lines backing Petra's excellent vocal. Listening to her sing, I'm reminded of Pink in the 'Mizzundastood' days. Petra has quite a bit of range to her voice, not just in her ability to hit the notes, but the inflection she adds to the words. And the words have always set September apart from most other electronica bands. You can actually think about what she's singing about! To go directly to the songs on this release: Candy Love, as I already noted, is exceptional. 'R.I.P.' is actually a sad song despite the uptempo take. 'Just An Illusion' is a great song that points out that what we think we are looking for often doesn't exist. 'Cry For You' ends the album on a hot note. I'd love to see the videos that are supposed to be on the cd, but none of my dvd players will access them. One final note: Is it just me, or does Petra look as if she's just swallowed a pint of alcohol on the cover shot? This is great music, be sure and pick it up!"
Makes dance music seem so easy...

"With a third CD, September works magic once again, giving us one catchy, hook-laden dance track after another, infused with commercial electro house vibes, retro 80s synth sounds, and 70s disco grooves. There really isn't a track on here that you would skip, and no annoying 'ballads' to mess up the flow. If you like Tina Cousins' second CD, the Madonna Confessions CD, Andy Bell's solo CD, Infernal's CD or Lasgo's second CD, you are going to love this one."
