"This CD is originally released by Kalan Music in Turkey in 1999. CD is intended to capture the music of people living on the European lands of Turkey ( Thrace). The band is a six piece orchestra. The leader of the band is Selim Sesler of Keþan which is a big town on Thrace. The music they are playing is considered to be Gypsy music in Turkey. The material is a collection of local songs some of which are forgetten and are archive material. CD is a result of extensive and academic research on the field. But in no way it should be considered as dry or didactic. On the contrary in compliance with the spirit of people living on that area most of whom are born into musician families and get their first education from their fathers, the music are really lively and reflecting the culture of that area and Turkey in general.
