SEBKHA-CHOTT is a bunch of young French musicians, taking originality in the true sense of the word. Apart from the traditional electric rock instrumentation, one can hear a brass section, some flute parts... And above all, the musicians took the (Good) habit to mix all the musical styles they know. And they know a whole lot ! SEBKHA-CHOTT even created a name for its music: "Mekanik Metal Disco". And this may even not be enough, as the enigmatic "Nagah-Mahdi - Opuscrits En Quarante-Huit Rouleaux" (2006) is packed with salsa, samba, electro, fanfare music, reggae, experiments, classic Progressive rock... These short pieces are packed with energy, enthusiasm and a huge sense of humour. Let's think of Frank ZAPPA, as well as of MAGMA for the musical tension and some atmospheres. The younger audiences may also hear bits of PSYKUP. An incredible album, just amazing !
